In 2017-2018, Istanbul&I worked with Çorbada Tuzun Olsun, a local NGO that delivers soup and clothes to the homeless in the municipality of Beyoğlu.
What We Do
Based in the neighborhood of Cihangir, Çorbada Tuzun Olsun is a popular way for young people to volunteer in Istanbul regularly because it is accessible, professional, and well-organized. Our volunteers aide Çorbada Tuzun Olsun’s clothes donation stock and the cleaning, packaging, and distribution of soup to the homeless, many of whom include very young children and the elderly of Turkish, Kurdish, Syrian, and Roma background.
What We Need
Volunteers interested in food and home security, health and safety particularly when it comes to the homeless. Must have sensitivity and patience when working in the streets during the distribution of food and clothes.
Çorbada Tuzun Olsun is an independent organization that delivers food and clothes on a daily basis. If you are interested in volunteering any given day, check out Çorbada Tuzun Olsun’s Facebook page. Istanbul&I volunteers join the team on Sundays. At 6:30, we began packaging soup and at 7:30 we began distribution.
